"There has to be some kind of heart behind it, or it just wouldn't be worth doing. So yeah, in my mind, there's a warmth, there's a lot about love, there is emotion in the music."

So Interpol are not true postmodernists? "I guess not. I'm not even sure what the definition of a true postmodernist is. But it's fun to play the part, you know?"
